Message by Vimla V. Nadkarni, President of International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW) condemning the terrorist attacks on civilians in Paris:

We are deeply shocked and strongly condemn the terrorist attacks on civilians in Paris that took place this morning. We pray for the early recovery of those injured and commiserate with all those affected by the attacks.

We appeal to all people of the world to mobilise together for peace, harmony, dignity and respect for humanity.A just world must be built by just means, and we deplore violence and repression by all persons.

We truly hope this appalling tragedy will not prevent governments from responding compassionately to legitimate refugees in Europe and other parts of the world.

We stay united and in solidarity with our shared values of humanity, tolerance, liberty and respect.
