The Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Social Workers (ANZASW) on the Social Workers Registration Legislation Bill 22Feb19 – History in the Making!
The Social Workers Registration Legislation Bill was passed in Parliament today giving greater protection for some of our most vulnerable people and increasing standards in the social work sector, says Minister for Social Development Carmel Sepuloni.

The new legislative requirements will finally make registration mandatory for social workers.  It will align with best practice in similar occupations and give a firm base for the social work profession to continue to develop in the future. Most importantly, the wellbeing and safety of people helped by social workers will be increased.
