IASSW UN Newsletter- Summer 2020
IASSW is publishing the latest issue of the Newsletter from the IASSW Team of Representatives to the United Nations, New York. Although the UN building has been closed and all major meetings have been held virtually since mid-March, a great deal of activity continues. Our IASSW representatives have perhaps been even busier than usual with their UN work. This newsletter covers our work throughout the summer. It introduces our link to the NGO Committee on Indigenous Peoples and continues with extensive coverage of work on the Committee on the Status of Women, the Committee on Mental Health, the Working Group on Girls, and several important working groups on Child Protection and Humanitarian Affairs. There are many useful links embedded in the reports. Please also note the list of resources on Covid-19 from the Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action. There are materials for social workers and others for use with children and parents.
We hope you find this newsletter useful in your work.
